WORLD AS A CLASSROOM ‘-‘ TRANSFORMATIVE LEARNING METHODS

We take you on educational adventures to learn from the environments around us

‘Place’ and ‘Interconnectivity’ are at the center of our pedagogy. Employing exploratory techniques to discover a ‘place’, this approach is designed to highlight nodes at which disciplines intersect. At its core this is an effort to depart from the fragmented processes of learning, thus creating an interconnected view of any system. This form of learning vacates preconceived roles of ‘educator’ and ‘learner’ in favour of investigating what it means to collectively build knowledge and make meaning of every experience.

  • Schools

We design and conduct programs and corresponding learning materials for middle school and high school classes.

  • Universities

We design and conduct modules and corresponding learning materials for undergrad and post graduate field sessions.

  • Interest Groups

Self organized youth clubs or families who want to engage in field-based learning.

  • Tailored activities

We tailor the number and types of activities to suit the available time, number, age and learning goals of your group. (diving, mapping, building, creating, solving, climbing... are some tools used during our activities)

  • Curriculum Overlaps

Our programs can be tailored cover curriculums thereby allowing institutions to meet course credits or project outputs and other requirements. ( Scientific concepts, processes, phenomenon, language, chemistry, biology, physics, geography, critical thinking, service, etc...)

  • Adventure Learning

The process of learning is through exploration and physical engagement, we provide a breakdown of the various aspects of ‘learning’ within each adventure.

  • Expert led itineraries

Our programs are often led by, field scientists, resource management professionals, sociologists and artists. We engage with local community memebers who live in and interact with the site. Observing their practices and learning their way is part of our process.

  • Hands on facilitators

They help participants discover and learn, bringing with them multiple perspectives to promote inquiry.

  • In Nature

Our pedagogy specifically uses habitats and ecosystems as our classrooms.

  • Your Backyard

We can bring to life this experience in your backyard to provide a contextual and place specific program.

  • Study Abroad (Anywhere in the world)

Provides a travel experience exposing you to extreme places and systems.
